"The Pear Mouse Clan" Needle Felted 2-3" mice By Barby Anderson (SOLD)

Meet the "Pear Mouse Clan".....a group of mice that live in the forest of Rodanta....
There are many mouse clans.... this one is named after pears because they are rather "pear shaped!"
That`s little "Bartlett" the runt of the family on the far left, and dramatic "Anjous," is in the center....well she loves being the center of things being the only girl child....
And that is little "Bosc" on the far right, he is a good-natured little mouse...
Mama of course keeps an eye on little "Bartlett" and he sure loves to follow Mama around.....
You might say "Bartlett" is the apple of Mama`s eye!
And tries to please her...
"Bosc" is a loner.... however loves to play with "Anjous!"
They live deep in the forest where the pear trees grow....
Maybe this is why they have such a "pear shape".... they love pears!
However, when they see someone at a picnic left behind some peanuts....
Mama gathers the kids and off they go to take home some peanuts for dinner!
Little "Bosc" is small, however very strong for such a wee mouse.....
In winter "Anjous" can slide down snowbanks on her "pear shaped" tummy! Yes that`s her in the middle...
You can see why sledding on her tummy would be pretty easy!
Mama gets a chuckle out of her dramatics over the largest nut she could find.... of course she dug thru them all to get the biggest!
Off they go, a splendid dinner they will have!

Violet a 3-3/4" Needle Felted Pixie Mouse By Barby Anderson (SOLD)

I hand appliqued a very old antique piece of handmade butterfly bobbin lace onto the Pixie mouse dress.  Love that lace!

Helen Priem made the beautiful Pixie doll and bird.  Liz Stevens made the darling house.

It is known that the Pixies of the forest tend to many creatures in need.  One day a Pixie found a lace butterfly trapped in a cage....
The Pixie knew butterflies are always meant to live free......
She quickly set free the lace butterfly .... low and behold the butterfly morphed into a beautiful lace Pixie mouse before her eyes!
The Pixie mouse was so thrilled to be free and vowed to help care for the creatures in the forest.....
She brought them flowers in her tiny basket....
Warned them if danger was near....
Brought them bread crumbs from the delicious bread the Gnomes made...
And helped them build their wee nests!
In return the birds of the forest sang sweet songs to the Pixie mouse....
Offered to share their nest with the wee mouse....
And best of all.... they became great friends with the mouse....
One day the birds asked the little mouse to follow them.... and to her surprise they built a home for her!
It was beautiful!
And little butterflies floated over the flowers around her new home....
For it is also known that this Pixie mouse has a great love of butterflies!
It was truly an enchanting home....
And the birds chirped their sweet songs above her head....
It was a grand day, yes it was....
And as the little Pixie mouse went inside she could smell warm cheese biscuits that were baked just for her.  Welcome home little one, welcome home!

The adorable owl was made by Helen Priem and she sent me some antique lace for this dress!

(Whisperin`) I dressed up in my favorite lace dress today....
Because I was hoping my best friend would notice me..... you know, as more than a friend....
He is following me right?
So he must notice me!
I even have a lace slip and sparkly stockings on....
But of course he will not know that!
Hello my friend, watch what I can do....
Whirl....
Swish.....
Spin.....
Oh my, I hope you did not see my sparkly stockings!
I would sure be embarrassed if you did!
Are you sure? You didn`t.....
Whew!
Well I better go home now... I am sure I will have sweet dreams thinking of you!

Polly 3" Needle Felted Pawdling Bunny By Barby Anderson (Not for sale)

Deep in the forest wee bunnies do play....
They even frolic with the great owls, so they say....
The owls keep them safe from dangers nearby...
And lift them on their wing to take off and fly...
So if you see a bunny peeking from the great owl's wing...

You'll know she is happy and tickled pink!

The barn owl was made by the fabulous artist Helen Priem!

Chubbles 3-1/2" Needle Felted Mouse by Barby Anderson (SOLD)

Helen Priem made the darling owls, Liz Steven made the cute little house and Dana Dunn made the yellow bird.

In the forest of "Rodanta" many baby mice wander and get lost....
The owls will try to save them at any cost.....
They protect them with all their might...
Even if it means they lift them on their wings to take a flight....
You see a Mama mouse is fretting after she realizes her baby is gone....
And so the owls make sure the the wee one makes it home before the morning dawn....
Back home safe and sound....
Good thing there are many kindly owls around!
