In Memory of Helen Visser Priem….a most wonderful artist and my dear dear friend….

I have been gone from this blog for some time.  I do not know if anyone will even see this anymore, however for those who may visit, I lost my dear friend Helen Visser Priem who made so many owls and other creations as friends to my mice and bunnies.  She left this earth on July 10th, 2014.  Her courage was unending, her spirit unbending.  How I miss her….

But to honour their memory with a promise to live a little better for having known them, gives purpose to their life and some reason for their death.

Thank you friends. Helen had such a kind spirit and her heart was in every one of her creations. I have many of her owls, Gnomes and other creatures, and I cherish them. It is a great comfort to hold them in my arms and think of my sweet friend. Helen's family is so very loving and caring, very strong wonderful people. I think of them daily….along with my dear Helen.

Dear Barby, I am so sad to hear this news. I was a huge admirer of her work and her as a person. I was so lucky to win a jackdaw of hers in a giveaway that she did. I had hoped to one day be able to commission a gnome from her as I love them so much. I loved her blog posts and the stories she would write. I really enjoyed seeing photos of her new beautiful house and seeing the animals that lived there! She was a very magical person. Such a sad loss. :( Rest In Peace Helen. Xxx

Dear Barby,

I was so afraid this was true, that Helen had passed. Such a lovely creative spirit she was, and is. The earth is a poorer place for her passing.

Most sorrowfully,

Beth

So sad, I had only recently just discovered her blog. She was such a brave and talented lady. She gave me inspiration for which I will be forever grateful. She will be sadly missed.

Here it is 2019 and Helen is still touching hearts... I just discovered her work and your work, Barby! Both so inspirational and your quote even more important in their memory giving them purpose. I noted you are retired and health issues part of the reason. I hope this comment finds you basking in the love of your family and the art world and its creations you surround yourself in.
Kind regards,
Janette
